WHAT DIVISION SHOULD YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN?

WHAT IS MY CHILD'S "LEAGUE AGE"?

"League age is determined by the age charts provided by Little League International. Players are eligible to play in any division in which they meet the age minimum.

Beginner Tee Ball:

Tee-ball division is for boys and girls league ages 4–5 WITH or WITHOUT a season of Tee Ball experience. Tee Ball is the Introduction to baseball with an emphasis on beginner skills development mixed with fun. There are no scores or standings kept for this division. There are no tryouts for this division; teams will be assigned by the league’s Player Agent. Personal requests to play with friends, etc. may be honored at this level.

Rookie League:

Rookie League division is for boys and girls league ages 6-7 WITH a season of Tee Ball experience. Rookie Ball will introduce coach pitching with an emphasis on basic skills development and preparing kids to move to the next level. No scores or standings will be kept, basic baseball rules will be emphasized and mandatory infield/outfield requirements will be enforced. There are no tryouts for this division; teams will be assigned by the league’s Player Agent. Personal requests to play with friends, etc. may be honored at this level.

Machine Pitch Baseball:

Machine Pitch Baseball division is for boys league age 7-8, players league age 6 will be eligible WITH a season of Tee Ball or Rookie League experience with the approval of the Player Agent may register for this division. Machine Pitch introduces an automated machine to pitch to batters and will place an emphasis position player development and continued development of the basic skills. Scores and standings are kept. Tryouts are required for this division. Personal requests to play with friends, car pools, etc. will not be honored at this level as teams are selected via a draft process.

Coach Pitch Softball:

Coach Pitch Softball division is for girls league age 6-8. Coach Pitch introduces an adult volunteer pitching to batters and will place an emphasis position player development and continued development of the basic skills. Scores and standings are kept. Tryouts are required for this division. Personal requests to play with friends, car pools, etc. will not be honored at this level as teams are selected via a draft process.

Minors Baseball:

The Minor League Baseball division is for boys ages 8–11, players who are not drafted into the Minors Division will be eligible to be drafted into the Machine Pitch Division. The Minors Division is the introduction to player pitching with a continued emphasis on player development. Scores and standings are kept. Tryouts are required for this division and players are placed on teams via a draft process. Personal requests to play with friends, carpools, etc. will not be honored at this level.

Majors Baseball:

The Little League Baseball Division (sometimes known as the Major Division) is for boys ages 9–12, players 11 and under that tryout and are not selected for this division will be drafted into the Minors Division. Scores and standings are kept. This Division plays by regulation Little League rules and would be considered the most competitive division for the eligible age group. Tryouts are required for this division and players are placed on teams via a draft process. Personal requests to play with friends, carpools, etc. will not be honored at this level.

Majors Softball:

The Little League Softball Division (sometimes known as the Major Division) is for girls ages 9–12, players 11 and under that tryout and are not selected for this division will be drafted into the Minors Division. Scores and standings are kept. This Division plays by regulation Little League rules and would be considered the most competitive division for the eligible age group. Tryouts are required for this division and players are placed on teams via a draft process. Personal requests to play with friends, carpools, etc. will not be honored at this level.

Intermediate (50/70) Baseball:

The Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division was introduced in January, 2010, as a pilot program for 12- and 13-year-olds which utilizes a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths. The division, which was new division of Little League Baseball in 2013 for players league-age 11-13 with postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series, offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/Big League field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance and 90-foot base paths). Tryouts are required for this division and players are placed on teams via a draft process. Personal requests to play with friends, carpools, etc. will not be honored at this level.

Juniors Baseball:

The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys ages 13–14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet 6 inches. Scores and standings are kept. Tryouts could be required for this division and players could be placed on teams via the draft process depending on the enrollment numbers for a particular season. This division typically starts later than the younger divisions.

Juniors Softball:

The Junior League Softball Division is a program for girls ages 13–14. Scores and standings are kept. Tryouts could be required for this division and players could be placed on teams via the draft process depending on the enrollment numbers for a particular season. This division typically starts later than the younger divisions.
